Special Local Events during 2012

• Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens, St Austell
  Winter Plant Festival – Mon 13^th February to Mon 2^nd March
  There will plenty to see in our 2 acre Winter garden as it is full of colour & scent, including 50 different varieties of snowdrop
   
• Cornwall Garden Society’s Spring Flower Show at Boconnoc –
        Saturday 31^st Mary to Sunday 1^st April
              (Times: 10.00 to 17.00 Saturday, 10.00 to 16.00 Sunday)
   
• “Obby Oss” day in Padstow – 1^st May
  Padstow is famous for its May Day festivities when the
  Obby Oss is traditionally released from its stable to welcome in Spring and may even be an ancient fertility festival 
  (Traditionally held on the 1^st except when that falls on a Sunday. Festivities are then held on Monday the 2^nd)
   
• Flora Day, Helston – Tuesday 8^th May
  (Traditionally held every year on May 8th except when this date falls on a Sunday or Monday, then it is held on the preceding Saturday)

• du Maurier Festival, Fowey – Wednesday 9^th to Sunday 20^th  May
  Ten days of entertainment featuring star names, talks, walks, theatre and concerts celebrating the town’s most famous literary resident, the author Daphne Du Maurier.– details on website:  www.dumaurierfestival.co.uk/
   
• Lerryn River Yacht Squadron’s Summer Solstice Boat Rally – evening of Saturday 23rd June  
   
• Fowey Classic Boat Rally – July 31^st to 3^rd  August
   
• Fowey Regatta Week (including Red Arrows) – 19^th to 26^th August
  Regarded by many as one of the best local regattas in the country
